Sparky the Butterfree
pfp Hello guys and welcome to our edition of Day in the Life of.... Butterfree's trainer'. We had the pleasure of following around Zemira Albertine, much to her pleasure because she loves spending time with people? Like what, who likes people? Anyway, we did follow the routine of how she trains her Butterfree, Sparky. I do not know what name means but to each their own, right?! So like the amazing person I am, I went to record the day two hours early, because who would mind starting their day earliar than they thought it would start. Zemira was overjoyed as she had woken up quite excited as well, and then we set off to spend the day with her and Sparky!

How are Sparky's mornings and how did you bond with him after catching him?

Zemira

Sparky is not a morning Pokémon and would actually like to be left alone to get as much sleep as possible before he decides it's time to start his day. I've never actually seen a Butterfree do that before when I used to camp with other trainers and was excited when I caught mine. I thought Sparky would be able to adapt to my morning routine well but he hates to wake up and it seems as if he has a personal vendetta against the sun.

We actually bonded really well after I caught him as Caterpie, our bond was strong and we loved spending time together. The Metapod stage wasn't much fune because I got a lot of attitude from him but thankfully got past that and Sparky emerged back as a Butterfree. We have been like two peas in a pod ever since, an our bond grows stronger each day.

Interesting lore, do you mind telling me more about a Butterfree?

Zemira

Butterfree is a Bug and Flying Type Pokémon and comes from the Butterfly Pokémon species. He is lepidopteran insect Pokémon, it has two body segments and four light blue legs. The upper pair of its legs resemble small, three-fingered hands, while the lower pair resembles long, digit-less feet. Butterfree has two black antennae, a light blue snout with two fangs underneath, and large, red compound eyes. Its two pairs of wings are white with black venation. Two oval scales on a female Butterfree's lower wings are black, but they are white on a male.
Butterfree in the Series
Ash had a Butterfree in the anime that he caught as a Caterpie, the first Pokémon he ever caught. He evolved from Metapod in after his battle with the Samurai. Butterfree was also the first Pokémon that Ash let go, allowing him to mate with a pink Butterfree, and he later reunited with Ash!

Butterfree also appeared in I Choose You!, which was set in a different continuity from the main series. He evolved from Metapod during a battle against a group of Primeape.

Butterfree marked many firsts for Ash's Pokémon, as it was the first Pokémon Ash captured, the first to evolve, the first to reach his final form, the first to be traded away, although Ash got him back, the first to have a confirmed gender and the first to be released.

Butterfree is the first Bug-type Pokémon Ash has caught.

Butterfree holds the record out of all of Ash's Pokémon for taking the shortest time to fully evolve, evolving from Metapod only one episode after it evolved from Caterpie.

Butterfree is one of the members of Ash's Kantonian party not to appear in any of the movies based on Pokémon the Series: The Beginning.

Butterfree is one of Ash’s officially trained Pokémon not to physically appear in the To Be a Pokémon Master anime miniseries.
