Johto

The Johto region is located west of Kanto and south of Sinnoh.

For those of you who may not be as good at geography as me, it was the second core series region to be introduced.

It is based on the Kansai region of Japan, one of the most populated areas of the Honshū Island. Unlike its modern counterpart, the Kansai region is known for its historic monuments and preservation of tradition and culture, boasting architectural design and natural landmarks that make it a cultural hotspot within Japan.
Journeying Through Johto

Welcome to Johto
Hey everyone! I'm Boat Sansurin and I bugged the pretty gold lady (Elahe Sharma) to give me an unofficial guest segment on one of her team's blogs so I could try my hand at blogging myself in case it's a career I want to try in future..

Lucky for you, you get to join my on my journey as I travel far and wide to the beautiful region known as Johto. Join me (and my cousin Kitt who I forcefully dragged along) as we explore!

Upon initial exploration, you most definitely will not be able to find yourself dehydrated all too easily if you're travelling through Johto. This place is full of water! I tried to convince Kitt to go for a swim with me but then I rather embarrassingly remembered that that would mean he would be able to see just how horrible my swimming form is and decided it wasn't worth it. Really when my parents named me Boat they could have given me pretty swimmer genes or something.

There is some very pretty trees around the West though and I loved getting to see all the cool plants and showing off my knowledge when Kitt was actually listening to me. Turns out I remember more than I think from my classes which I see as a major achievement really.

We also got a chance to see some of my school friends, which was great until they recognised Kitt, and even went to Goldenrod City! It was so cool and the radio tower was extra special and that's kinda the reason I'm writing my own version of a digital diary. One of the workers told me that was what working on the radio was like and I think I like my idea more because I can even share pictures which is way cooler. We also visited the Pokemon Day Care and I saw the cutest little pokebabies there. Most importantly though, I met loads and loads of new people from all over and I look forward to staying in contact with them!

One thing we didn't get to do on our trip was check out the mountains. Kitt got busy so we had to come home but maybe he'll take me again and I will get a chance to see the Dragon Tamers which would just be like a dream come true! I'm sure I could convince him.

Apparently this place is the seventh most populated region and honestly I can see that.
World of Johto
Now that you've read a little from Boat on what this fantastical place is like in the fandom, let me shine a light on what the region means to us on the WoPM site!

Here on World of Pokémon we have our own key areas in the Johto region. If you're on the site already, you will likely be familiar with them, but if you're not then I think it's high time you join us!

On site it houses not only some of the (arguably) most important admin-y site pages such as our staff list and some of the amazing clubs we have on site, but also some brilliant RP locations. Mainly utilised by our budding students, tired professors, or those close to the former, we find our Classrooms forum and our Professors' Labs forum here. Either someone is celebrating, struggling or in a good bit of trouble. Which should we expect from you?

It also houses the infamous radio tower. A popular spot not just for our potential future talkshow hosts (cough Boat Sansurin cough) or musicians looking to share their music with the region but so much more. Rumour has it they even have an open door policy where anyone can just walk in and take a look around. I sure would love a guided tour as a student or perhaps an intern!

Travel fact:

Most of the English names for cities of Johto are based on plants or plant-based things!
